Have been buying these for years as they wear out (do not hold a charge) In the past each battery would have a useful life of about 5 years.
The newer batteries (made in/after 2013) do not hold a charge and are not covered by the warranty (is it two or three years?) according to DeWalt.

The closest service center suggested by the DeWalt rep over the phone is 200 miles away.......not sure what a service center could do any way to a bad battery. The second battery bought in this combo pack is holding a charge.
So you have to buy new ones.......just be aware........
